True North Gear News: Q1 2024

2024 is already shaping up to be a busy year at True North, and as we power through the last stretch of winter gloom we're excited to share some good news with you! Q1 is always an exciting time as we plan for our summer events and gear up to serve our wildland firefighter community as things get warmer. As always, thank you for being a part of the TNG family and for the work that you do.

Lobby Update

Last year, we moved into our brand-new facility in Washington State and since then we’ve been working on remodeling it into the perfect home for TNG. We’ve got some big updates in that department, including the opening of our product showroom, the installation of a real lineman’s pole, and custom designed tables. We'll be moving onto the finishing touches in our next phase, so stay tuned for even more developments as we finalize this space!

The Ecological Importance of Wildland Fire 

Despite their reputation for being forces of destruction, wildfires play a critical role in many of the environments that they occur in. Often fires act as a reset button, removing underbrush to allow new waves of plants to flourish. NOAA Wildfire Outlook

The latest NOAA outlook predicts a quieter than usual wildfire season in the Southeast with increased risk in the Upper Midwest. Click here to be taken to the NOAA website and see the current wildfire risks in your area, as well as information on other climatic conditions.

Christmas Party/Donation Drive

The True North team brings plenty of cheer every holiday season, and this winter we wanted to spread it to those in need. In addition to our yearly holiday party, we also participated in a donation drive benefiting Urban Rest Stop. Urban Rest Stop provides hygiene and laundry services to people experiencing homelessness. The team collected hygiene products to be donated for use at their facility. We’d like to give an extra special shout out to our AP/AR Manager Jenn, who was the organizer behind this effort. Giving back to our communities is a major core value at TNG, and we’re proud to have partnered with Urban Rest Stop to make an impact.
